This is the story of my quest to train my three Dales Ponies for classical dressage, primarily by using Alexandra Kurland's clicker training methods, with a touch of others such as Philippe Karl and Anja Beran thrown in. I turned to clicker training because I had come up against some issues that I didn't know how to fix and because I wanted to inspire them to become enthusiatic partners. Bella and Jack are all my own work and have never been ridden by anyone else.

Just to show the reverse side of clicker training Bella's canter, this is what happens when I click from a canter. I have to brace myself first, before I dare to click! I must add that I would never ask her to stop like this, the reins are hanging loose, and I wince a bit looking at it - I hope she's not doing herself any damage - but if I want to click an excellent canter transition this is the immediate result! She's stopped so fast even her lower lip has been left behind!!!
